did it well as Linux Ubuntu Desktop 20.10 also did well. Note that my Raspberry Pi 4 is a 64 bit machine, indeed with ARM architecture but traccar linux 4.12. In the meanwhile I picked up already some basic Linux commands. Therefore I installed this morning Linux Ubuntu 20.10 Desktop again on my RPI and in a while I will install Traccar ARM 4.12. Unfortunately after the power-down/power-up test yesterday evening the system responded not correctly any more. (Although in my hurry to get results I made some stupid mistakes like starting up in the wrong directory and messing up some Ubuntu files.). With help of the "challenging" support of Anton (Thanks Anton!!), I was able to set-up the server completely, inclusive E-mail notifications, etc. Any upgrade I do is quite major as this is my backup NAS as well as the traccar server. I have not upgraded to 11.3 at this stage, although I do intend to at some stage, I have to also upgrade the other services running on my NAS such as PlexMedia Server. In my case the installation was done under /usr/local/traccar therefore I edited /usr/local/traccar/conf/traccar.xml :. The fix/hack I have implemented to allow the service to start at bootup and run is to modify the /conf/traccar.xml and hard code the path into the lines of the file. This indicated a problem with the application finding the path when the daemon started. The problem I was encountering is that although the Traccar process service was running I was unable to access the web page login.Ĭhanging to the installation directory and running the service command "service traccar start" the system started to run. The Linux version works for installation purposes and when checking the system after installation the processes appeared to be running, daemon and traccar. This was a good starting point although some of the commands a now slightly different in version 11. I had followed the installation instructions for both OpenBSD and FreeBSD from the documentation pages. I was also trying to install it on FreeNAS in a FreeBSD 11 jail. I have been trying to install Traccar on my NAS4Free server which is running FreeBSD 11. If service is running, check you can telnet into the port to see if traccar is accepting connections (might need to install telnet. Hi Raoul, can you confirm that traccar is running & accepting connections on the raspberry pi by performing the the commands whilst logged into the raspberry pi Is it a port problem or is the traccar server not running? I have the idea that I cannot get the traccar server running one way or the other.Īt least when I try the traccar Port Check to port 8082 I get the message that the port is closed.ĭo you have any suggestions how to solve this problem? I have done the port forwarding steps in the router to the IP address of the Raspberry. I have tried :8082 but no connection is established to the traccar server. I have tried with the downloads traccar-linux-arm-4.12 and with traccar-linux-64-4.12.Īfter: "sudo systemctl start traccar" nothing happens. The linux installed on the RPI is Ubuntu Desktop 20.10 64b I have a Raspberry Pi 4, 8Gb with a 32 Gb sd card. Up till inclusive the above step 8 all works well. However considering the power consumption of my old PC I have bought a Raspberry Pi 4 and installed Linux and traccar on it. I installed linux and downloaded traccar and everything works fine.

I have installed the traccar server on an old PC. I went through all of them in the quest of finding an answer The weird thing is though that this issue does not seem to be readily discussed in the relevant traccar forums. There was another employee who installed traccar on a free aws account so that we could track our company cars and motorcycles, I would like to update it to the newest version but I see that I have to check which version is installed to update correctly, how can I know what is the current version? Thank you!įantastic.
